Young's Two Slit Interference Experiment
You can alter the distance between the slits, and the
wavelength of the light. The simulation can be stopped by right-clicking
the mouse when it is on the applet. The red lines indicate the
paths taken by light from each of the slits. The apex can be
dragged with the mouse. As you move the apex, you can observe the
path difference if you look closely at the red lines near the
slits. What happens when the path difference is exactly one
wavelength? Two wavelengths? Three wavelengths? And what happens
when is is .5 or 1.5 or 2.5 etc wavelengths? You can move the two
slits closer or further apart by clicking and dragging.
